Overview

What is Individualized Home Supports with Family Training?

Most families providing care at home have never been trained to do it. That is what this service is for. We work with your whole family, teaching caregiving techniques, safety basics, and ways to handle the hard days. Our caregivers show you how things are done, coach you through tricky situations, and help your family feel more confident providing care between professional visits.

Frequently asked questions

What will our family learn during training?
Training is customized, but common topics include safe lifting and transfer techniques, personal hygiene assistance, medication management, nutrition and meal preparation for special diets, fall prevention, and how to recognize changes in condition that need attention.
Do all family members need to participate?
We recommend that anyone who provides regular care participates, but it is not required. Even training one family member makes a significant difference. We can work with your family's schedule to make training accessible.
How long is the training program?
The length varies based on your family's needs and goals. Some families need a few focused sessions, while others benefit from ongoing coaching over several weeks. We move at your family's pace.
Will we still have professional caregiver support?
Yes. Family training does not replace professional care. It supplements it. Our caregivers continue providing support while gradually building your family's skills. The goal is to strengthen the overall care team, not to leave your family on your own.
